What's with.....all the lockouts

Today I would like to debut this weekly short titled What's With. In these posts I will talk about certain troubling sports related topics. Today's topic the resent lockouts. In 2011 both the NBA and NFL locked out there players and now the NHL is in a lockout. I believe these lockout are due to greedy commissioners and players. I think every but needs to go back to playing because they love the sport they play not for the money because this is pathetic!

Detroit Tigers

Detroit tigers

season report

A lot of people have asked me to do a baseball post so here it is.

Although my favorite MLB team didn't win the world series they still had an amazing year.

Key Players: I would say the 2 most important players this season were Miguel Cabrera who was the first triple crown winner since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967 and Justin Verlander who didnt miss a step after winning the cy young award.

Rising Star: This year the tigers brought up a young boy by the name of  Quintin Berry. Berry brought a nice spark to the tigers after a slow start at the begining of the year. One of Berry's biggest plays this year was his very first hit a bunt double.

What To Look Forward To: After such a great season its hard to think the tigers will get much better but the possibilty is very high. With young guns like Quintin Berry and a lot of young pitchers they will look to improove. Also, we will be getting Victor Martinez back from injury pair him with Cabrera and Prince Fielder and the Tigers have some power hitters.

THE UNLIKELY

LEADERS

Now I really REALLY dislike the Minnesota Vikings but i have to give credit where credit is due. This team went from getting a top 5 draft pick to now being 4-1 and looking to make a run at a division title.

A key win so far was againt the San Fancisco 49ers who was considered to be a championship contender this season after shockingly making it to the NFC championship game last season. Another remarkable win came against one of my favorite teams the Detroit Lions.

One very important element to the Vikings recent success is the growth of QB Christain Ponder who in the Vikngs latest win threw for over 250 yards and had 2 touchdown passes against the Tennassee Titans. However, the biggest reason why the Minnesota Vikings are 5-1 is AP Adrian Peterson. This stellar running back is coming of an injury plagued 2011-2012 season but if he keeps up what hes doing now this could be one dangrous team.

Although the Vikings did lose to the Inndianapolis Colts who are starting a rookie QB in Andrew Lucks so who knows how good this team really is...
